SPORTS MEDIA RIGHTS, SPONSORS AND MARKETING

The Firm gained an in-depth and extensive experience in the exploitation of the TV rights of sports events and competitions (from soccer and volley, to boxing and Formula 1).

SLM’s expertise was the key for its interaction with the Institutions: SLM was actively involved in the drafting of the D.Lgs. no. 9, of 8 January 2008 (the so-called “Decreto Melandri”), by which the sector of sports audiovisual rights was deeply reshaped, first time in Europe.

To date, SLM is involved in the commercialization of audiovisual rights related to the professional Italian soccer championships.

SLM’s expertise embraces sponsors, licensing and merchandising. SLM provides legal advice to all stakeholders operating in sports marketing, both for the economic exploitation of Clubs’ and Federations’ brands and for the economic exploitation of athletes’ image rights.

Advertising is one of the cornerstones of the sports system. Sports is the best-fitted vehicle for advertising and promotional purposes.
